Oktober Fest 2008

WARNING! Picture overload! I had a blast yesterday! Being the loser I am, I kept telling my friends I should leave to study after 2pm then meet up with them later at 5pm, but unfortunately that did not happen as I was dragged all around downtown with a bunch of drunks. See the picture stories for yourself! We attended the Brew It Up VIP event hosted by sacdine.com from 12pm - 2pm. There were complimentary appetizers of sausages, krauts, fried veggies, giant pretzels, and many different sauces. Also many different kinds of German beers for 2 bucks! I tried several dunkels and found that I actually like dark beer. I also tried the Orange Blossom Blond, but hated the taste. I'm lacking pictures of the VIP event since I was too busy stuffing my face with appetizers. Here are my friends chattin' up a storm while I clumsily take pictures of the 'special VIP' event. Look at that drunkie, Richard. Sacdine.com also had prizes. I found it unfair that I didn't win anything, yet two people within my party did. A bit unfair since I was the one who invited ALL OF THEM. eh... It's not too big of a deal. I had my free appetizers, I was happy with that and the 2 buck German beer. w00t! Group picture of the boys. I wish I had gotten a picture of all of us, but I wasn't thinking. I had studying and food on my mind. Picture of the sacdine.com staff who were kind enough to stop by our table and introduce themselves. I forgot his name, but the tall man in black gave out prizes on behalf of sacdine.com. The little boy is adorable!!! The second picture is one member of my groupie getting his prize. damn him... The tall man giving out the prizes is also the guide who does the Sac Grub Crawl, I've been wanting to do one of those since I've been single. (wow, that sounds depressing) We left after 2pm, since the VIP kick off party was done but it would reconvene with the actual party after 9pm - 2am. We decided to allow some of my buddies to sober up so we walked around downtown and then we ended up at the mall, le sigh. The first picture was pretty random. I saw the word vagina and forced my friend in the picture. Here I am trying on men's clothing (what's new...) with Eric. idiots We made a quick visit to Evangeline, but I didn't take any pictures since I was eating a big cinnamon roll. =( The guys were hungry so they left us for PF Changs. The girls decided to hang around downtown until 5pm then head over to Sacramento Turn Verein. I was really excited since this is what I consider a real Oktober Festival! I had loads of fun and the food was filling. YUUMMMY!!!! Beer is what brings my friends together. Here is Mermaid taking a bite out of the homemade gingerbread cake. (Mermaid - do you have any left??? Save me a quarter piece if you haven't yet finished it!!! This is a command.) There were two live bands playing. The one downstairs played old German folk music and upstairs, they played old 90s hits. A urinal in the co-ed bathroom!!! I had never been that close to a urinal before, so that was quite an experience! HAHAA My two cute friends dancing to German folk music! I thought it was too adorable. We ended our night by visiting Golden Bear and True Love cafe. Then we settled on Yummy Guide to feed my glutton ass. Again, no pictures of the food because my mind is not always on taking pictures, it's always on food. Sometimes, my hunger pangs are quite embarrassing. =( I enjoyed my first outing of Oktober fest. Next year, Mermaid and I will be ready with our dirndls and cash so we can treat poor Arlene. I really need to start carrying cash! The best thing about this event was when Mermaid realized she doesn't want to kill men anymore. Goodness. Her and German men... -__-; Special thanks to Sacdine.com and Sou V for the invite at Brew It Up! =) Now I need to make up on my lost study time. Auf Wiedersehen! Violet Btw, I'm not getting paid nor am I receiving complimentary dinners for crediting sacdine.com several times, I'm just very enthusiastic and love to give credit where it's due. Although, I hope they won't file a lawsuit against me for speaking too good of them.
