Junior Prom

Last year, I did a small blog entry about my cousin and sister's junior prom. I was really surprised by the amount of hits and request I had received about their dresses. So only to be fair, I'm going to post pictures of my youngest sister's prom dress. After this, it'll most likely be no more prom pictures (since I only have two sisters) or I will post their senior ball pictures along with my cousin Allie. But it really depends on my mood.

Both my sisters really wanted unique, one-of-a-kind dresses that you can't find anywhere, which is why Lena made her own jr. prom dress - with the help of my mother, of course.  Hillarie, on the other hand, isn't so crafty but wanted something that wasn't dark colored or matte and she wanted length, which meant she needed a gown. So this entailed lots of traveling and lots of time wasted on trying on dresses. It took 3 days before prom after many failed attempts of shopping for unique gowns that were tasteless and tacky until my mother finally found the perfect dress... in the back of her closet!

They should've done that first before they had hit up Jessica McClintock. That store that "yawn-like" dresses, in my opinion.

The dress obviously had to be tailored and formed to fit my sister before her prom day. It was a rather stressful event that I don't want to get into. If you have to know, my sister waited until the last week to search for a dress because she had planned on no longer going the week before prom since she had too much projects and MESA competitions to do on prom day. But it worked out, she left her competition 4 hours early without knowing the end result of her projects, just so she could go to prom.

Enough jabber from my end. Pictures are down below. I'm sleepy but I have to be awake since I'll be going to Reno, NV in a couple of hours. Gosh, they grow up so fast. Lena and Allie are graduating this year! Hillarie is graduating next year! =O

Another Crazy

yes... another crazy person we all have to live with.

I recieved a phone call today from an unknown person with an unknown location. While this man goes off to tell me how the white race is still oppressing the ethnic groups, especially those of Native American ancestry - in which he prefered the term "Red Folks," I kept asking what's his name, where is he calling from, and what's the purpose of this call. He didn't want to tell me his name, nor his location, which drove me absolutely fuming. Although, when I interrupted him mid-sentence when he was mindlessly talking about how the red folks are the majority in some parts of Latin America to ask "Sir, what's the purpose of this call?" He said "I want you women to fix this problem."

... huh?

After being on the phone with him for another few more minutes explaining to him how I'm familiar with the how one race oppresses the other race  in the U.S., given that I studied U.S. history in college, so he doesn't need to repeat himself. But I let him know that I don't understand when he says the red folks' culture are disappearing due to the deaths of red women by the white man.

... what?

Before I hung up on him, I told him that I will take his comments into consideration and maybe, just maybe pass the word along.

Wish I could've said "Dude, you're crazy. The world isn't after your red folks like you think it is. That's history, get over it. You seriously want your red folks to rule over the Americas, then no one is holding you back. Just make sure you have the proper support for such ruling. BUT you're not getting my support 'cause you're crazy. Yes, sir. You're crazy and you have extreme thoughts. That's why you don't have my support."

Too bad I was too chicken to say so... sigh.

Bunch of randomness

My lazy Sunday

I'm currently tending to my blistered feet from my mid-morning run. I saw a jack rabbit cross the road. It was such an exhilarating sight on such a gorgeous day.

So as I lay, faced-down, with iced feet and a cat that I coaxed into giving me a back rub, I began to think about someone. Someone who I haven't seen in a great while. Someone I've been seething known feelings of hate towards.

The way I see it, you and I both know you're wrong. You keep this act up, there is no longer any friendship between us nor will there be any niceness from my end. I did not choose this, you did. I've reminded you and even warned you for the past several years. The crumbling of our relationship is at the fault of your unwillingness to change your destructive behavior, thinking and judgment. You should be walking on eggshells when the thought of our relationship enters your mind.

When people start to assume there is something wrong with everyone around them, I always wonder why they won't question themselves with "Perhaps there is something wrong with me." That's right, asshole. You are not the sugar to my tea.

Don't expect the world to change for you. That is such a stupid thing to expect. I can name off 5 people whom I personally know that carries this kind of thinking. Of course, when the list begins, so do the denials. If you don't want to change, then at least accept what the world for what it is.

Compared to the world, you are nothing more than a minuscule human being.

I'm thinking about making a batch of almond chocolate chip cookies after I finish my workout. Although, when will I start this workout if I'm still getting a massage from a beautiful feline?

Pretty green eyes,
you are the soft purrs that awake me in the mornings.
The motivation to my days.
The caffeine to fuel my fatigues.
You are the warmth of the blanket I yearn
and never more do I beg of you.
The shrill of your unspoken voice.
Who are you,
pretty green eyes?

I always feel a bit high and nostalic after I run. Why is that? I need a better mobile device for blogging my crazy thoughts. Especially when I'm riding public transportation home. Crazy shit happens and so do crazy thoughts.

Rumi Neely looks so cute when she smiles.

The cat is done with my back rub. Better thank him in kitty treats. And, if his mother agrees, buy him some cat nippies. Time for my 40 minute workout to grow another blister on my tired and sore feet then some cookie baking 'cause I'm seriously that much of a fruit.

Start of the Day

I'm up and ready for my Wednesday. It's going to be another crazy day.

Friday night feels more like a Thursday night

I'm lying in bed trying to brainstorm about what to write. If only posting pictures and blogging was so much easier and accessible to me. I'd have so much to bitch about. Like how it's weird that I recieved my first hate message from an irrational person, whom I've never met. Or how expensive Marc Jacobs handbags are when it's on sale. Oh well. Its late and I just want to go to sleep with my teddy bear with a beauty mark on it's cheek.

DUI for a California Politician

... a republican for crying out loud!

I won't say the name. But a southern California Senator was caught drunk driving yesterday morning at 2am. I didn't blog about this yesterday because I was busy at my new job and I had a busy evening of catching a mild cold in the pouring rain while waiting to see the premiere of a movie I've been wanting to see. Anyway! So it's been a hush hush that he's a closeted gay. What's even crazier is that I've seen him on the Senate Floor debating against gay rights and opposing every gay measure there is in the California legislature when it comes to homosexuals. So I assumed he wasn't gay. Heck, I never even met the man because he isn't part of the LA delegation (I'm affiliated with all LA members, in case you didn't know). I never thought he would be gay because of his opposing, family-value-christian-belief-gays-are-wrong arguments when it comes to gay issues. But as soon as I finally got my foot in the first house, everyone began filling me in on the gossip. Niiiiiice.

So, is he gay? I always assumed he was unmarried since it stated in the Capitol Inquiry that he's single with two adult children. Who knows. My aunt says she thinks he's a bit flamboyant when he sat next to her on a first class flight to L.A.

I'm glad I'm not working in his office right now. I'd have such a headache trying to deal with this scandal.

Here's a link to the article because I don't feel like quoting it on my page. Yes. Politics is dirty. Yes it is.
