I'm lying in bed trying to brainstorm about what to write. If only posting pictures and blogging was so much easier and accessible to me. I'd have so much to bitch about. Like how it's weird that I recieved my first hate message from an irrational person, whom I've never met. Or how expensive Marc Jacobs handbags are when it's on sale. Oh well. Its late and I just want to go to sleep with my teddy bear with a beauty mark on it's cheek.

DUI for a California Politician
... a republican for crying out loud!
I won't say the name. But a southern California Senator was caught drunk driving yesterday morning at 2am. I didn't blog about this yesterday because I was busy at my new job and I had a busy evening of catching a mild cold in the pouring rain while waiting to see the premiere of a movie I've been wanting to see. Anyway! So it's been a hush hush that he's a closeted gay. What's even crazier is that I've seen him on the Senate Floor debating against gay rights and opposing every gay measure there is in the California legislature when it comes to homosexuals. So I assumed he wasn't gay. Heck, I never even met the man because he isn't part of the LA delegation (I'm affiliated with all LA members, in case you didn't know). I never thought he would be gay because of his opposing, family-value-christian-belief-gays-are-wrong arguments when it comes to gay issues. But as soon as I finally got my foot in the first house, everyone began filling me in on the gossip. Niiiiiice.
So, is he gay? I always assumed he was unmarried since it stated in the Capitol Inquiry that he's single with two adult children. Who knows. My aunt says she thinks he's a bit flamboyant when he sat next to her on a first class flight to L.A.
I'm glad I'm not working in his office right now. I'd have such a headache trying to deal with this scandal.
Here's a link to the article because I don't feel like quoting it on my page. Yes. Politics is dirty. Yes it is.

Movie Night
...FREE movie night!
I saw Alice in Wonderland last night. It took two hours of standing in line (Philliam did the two hours while I mindlessly roamed around downtown for an hour - poor Philliam) in the cold rain to catch the premiere. I'm glad we were able to get better seats than the last time we saw a 3D film. Moving one row back actually made a difference.
Alice in Wonderland movie opinion: I LOVED it. Everything about it. Tim Burton did an excellent job and I was very pleased with the whole cast line up. A movie is always better when you have people who can actually act. *ahem* LindSAY Blohan *ahem*
I say it was worth the wait and time to see this film. Yes, it's even worth it for feeling a bit crappy the day after. I'm going to drink some tea and snuggle up with a cat while I fend off this illness.

Monitoring Education Committee at work.
I’m currently watching Senate Education Committee about recommendations from the CA Association of Student Councils. I like their recommendations, these issues will help our legislature develop and implement better policies to school needs. I agree with the first panel about school cafeteria and the need for full time nurses. To the best of my knowledge, school nurses just don’t slap on a band-aid and send you back to class or give you ibuprofen, they deal with a whole range of medical needs. They also undergo the same training and education as nurses who work in clinics and hospital settings. Anyway, I should stop now before I bore you all. Kudos to these students for mentioning the need for full time school nurses. UPDATE: Powerful presentation from the Drug and Alcohol Abuse Panel. They all shared stories of how they are affected by drugs and alcohol abusers. If you're interested in viewing this committee hearing, check out www.calchannel.com and type in the search engine today's date: 2/24/2010 and click on Senate Education Committee to watch the video.

In the news today...
Damn, I am. I’m sure many of you are aware of the major headlines in today’s news, or at least I hope you do, but you’d know about Toyota’s squeaky clean image being questioned as of late. Today, victims and leaders of Toyota will be testifying in front of Congress. That’s some heavy shit, right there. I never thought I’d see that coming from a goody-two-shoe of the automobile industry. I’m currently watching a testimony given by a victim on CNN. A survivor, Rhonda Smith, of Lexus’ malfunction is testifying with tears, of course. Shame on you, Toyota. Shame on you. I honestly felt like Toyota has been skimping on their handi-work. I’m sure they felt like they were already at the top of their game, especially being proclaimed as the best automobile company to purchase from. So, they got a little lazy with their production. I don’t want to get into the nitty gritty details of this effect and my thoughts on their half-assed production. I’ve already decided that my trust in Toyota is gone. Seeing that they have been cocky and never admitted to any wrong-doings when Rhonda Smith filed a complaint, just shows that they did not handle the situation right away when complaints were being filed. Millions of lives could have been in danger. It’s going to take a lot of convincing to get me to trust them again. But I’ll still buy their Prius, since that’s the only they I feel they have going for them. It is Toyota’s pride and joy, so why not? Well, with the exception of 2010 models. But I'll be looking forward to the 2011 Prius! :P CNN put together a great list of recalls on their site: http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/02/09/toyota.recall.list/index.html
